What is Functional Test?
The functional test verifies that an electronic assembly performs its intended function correctly by testing it under real operating conditions.
The functional test (FCT) is the final inspection of an electronic assembly. The PCBA is powered and connected to the test system via defined interfaces. The test program simulates the real operating environment and measures the assembly's response.
Process and Application
In many cases, the functional test is also used to load firmware, perform calibrations or assign serial numbers. Especially in medical technology, complete test protocols and traceability are an integral part of quality requirements.
