What is Turnkey Assembly?
Turnkey assembly is a service where the EMS partner handles complete component sourcing, manufacturing and testing.
In turnkey assembly, the EMS provider manages the entire value chain: component procurement, incoming inspection, PCB assembly, soldering, testing and delivery. The customer provides only manufacturing data (Gerber files, BOM, centroid file).
Process and Application
The opposite is consignment assembly, where the customer sources and provides the components. Turnkey is typically more advantageous as the EMS partner leverages purchasing volumes for better pricing.
